'Bye Felix!

Sad news from the Vicarage, I'm afraid: poor Felix was run over and killed on the evening of Bank Holiday Monday, bless him - instantaneous (thankfully) - and as cats do, he ran in front of a car on the road at the back of the house. Mind you he was never one to pay too much respect to vehicles - after all this was his domain - as people trying to get their cars down the Vicarage drive experienced.

Felix would just imperiously walk in front and make them wait! He was such a great character. Phoebe (sis') doesn't know what to do with herself and frankly neither do we. He's been so much a part of everything these past two years - even showing up in the middle of funeral services!. And Monday had been such a lovely sunny day, and he'd had a such a great short life - damn it & we get so very involved!!

We buried him in the twilight under the tree he first climbed (with Joel's help). We're going to miss him. To paraphrase a bit of the conversation between Tyrell and Roy Batty from my fave film Blade Runner: "The light that burns twice as bright burns for half as long - and (Felix) you have burned so very, very brightly...

Love~

Ian, Sue & Joel
